was teaching the P1s about prepositions
beside, behind, on, in, under, etc

told them to give me examples
Hammaad put up his hand and said cheekily
"teacher, my butt is on the chair"

he happens to be the son of one of the sec sch ustaz

i pray that He grants you what is best for you

marry someone who loves you, not someone you love

there must be some truth in that maxim of yours

and wallahi, i do feel that way
more so now when, even you
are jumping into that bandwagon

but right now i'm still on shaky ground
so i'm reconciled with how i am for the moment

nevertheless, don't stop praying for me

the P6 students had their excursion
to the NLB @ Victoria St.

while there, bumped into a junior
from the same course back in poly

seeing her set so many thoughts
so many 'what ifs' in my mind

what if i've done this?
what if i've done that?
what if i had chosen that
instead of choosing this?

everything happens for a reason i know
but at times, you just can't help
questioning the what ifs in life, can you?

on another note, borrowed three Sheldon books
but with the pile of markings to be done,
tests and exam papers to be set
will i have time to read them?

idea for the treat was thought of
way back since end of last year

venue had to be one that would agree
with his one-track throat
Straits Kitchen seemed like the best

Thursday afternoon made reservations
for Friday night dinner
got put on waiting list *uh-oh*
prayed and hoped all night will get it

Friday afternoon received phonecall
confirmed fully-booked no can do ma'am

sms the sister in panic
flurry of sms-es sent and received
reservations at Cafe Vienna made
as a back-up plan, though too pricey

the sister asked for Straits number
with her i-always-get-what-i-want attitude
called them up and asked further questions

walk-ins accepted depending on availability
with luck, we show up and get a table
otherwise, walk across to Vienna broken-hearted

we decided to take a gamble
went ahead and proceeded to Straits

pit stop at Grand Hyatt's prayer room
'twas bigger and better than Royal Plaza
waiting for Maghrib when call came in

we have a table *pumps fist in air*
but we have to leave by 8.30pm *what??*
because table already booked *boo*

better than nothing right?
the family did Maghrib
while i went to claim our table

Magrhib done, we feasted
the sister and i worriedly watched the time
8.30pm came and went, no one kicked us out
soon it was 8.40pm, then 9.10pm

gleefully, we left with filled stomach

the sister and i rejoiced
we managed to get what we want after all *hehe*
