wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

i am back!

but not without some very colourful events happening *heh*

Saturday morning visited Umm Amatullah
at Kelly Park Centre at Werribee
she's there every Sat to raise funds
for Abu Amatullah's case

i've missed her so much!
especially her teachings
got to meet her mother-in-law
and Salsabil too of course!
managed to get a pic of her

was introduced to Cik Nora as well
and she's handed me a very HUGE amanah
will do that tomorrow insya'allah

wanted to leave around 12 to head for Tice's
but everyone started coming in only at about 12.30pm
so reached Dandenong only at 3.15pm

got picked up by Osman from the station
their place is nice enough for the three of them
and Osman's car is damn sleeekkk!!
and Abs bike colour changes
from yellow to pink in the sunlight
how cool is that huh?

they promised me a place to stay there
if and when i come back to Melbourne
thank you my darlings! will keep that in mind

slacked and ate till almost 5pm
by the time they dropped me off was Maghrib
packed the whole night of course

somehow my laptop crashed out on me that night as well!
so sad you know!! hopefully my pics can be saved
praying really hard that it will be saved *please God*

woke up early and packed again
2 more bags were added to my luggage by the time i left
Hida was late, so hung around alone for a bit

yeap, we took the same flight home
she called Friday night to tell me about it
her research assistant application couldn't come through
so she's decided to go back instead

and wallahi, i honestly, truly thought
the baggage limit was at 30kg!
so i packed accordingly, but it was at 25 darnit!!
eventually had to pay for that extra 5kg *sheesh*

flight was uneventful, though movies were crappy
watched A Wedding Date three times! haha!
well Sahara and whatever-the-other-movies-were
were not exactly interesting to me

collected luggage by 9.17pm
family not there, so waited out
perhaps got caught up with Isyak or traffic

wait and wait and wait
they better not be late
because of watching Hindi movie i grumbled

wanted to make phonecall
but had absolutely no sg money on me
so what to do?

wait and wait and wait
okay getting worried now
hopefully they're not in trouble
like kena accident or something

wait and wait and wait
till about after 10pm
figured that's enough waiting
had to do something about it

approached info desk, asked if can use phone
luckily can so called the sister's number

where the hell are you guys? i exclaimed
where the hell are YOU? she asked back

well guess what?
my very smart dowager and family
thought i was on SQ flight
when i was on Qantas!! *slaps forehead*
and they were at Terminal 2 while i was at Terminal 1!!

so now you know where i get my ditzyness from eh?

on my part i should have told them
then again, i thought they would know what!

anyway, they came over to where i was
was pleasantly surprised to see
darling aunty, granny and uncle came as well

was told that on their part, mom was getting worried
aunt checked passenger list on SQ my name not there
dowager thought i've decided not to come back last minute
that's a thought! kherkher!

arrived home safely, exclaimed at new stuffs at home
sms-ed dear friends, Hafiz and Wan called and chatted for a bit

woke up early this morning and unpacked
i have soooo many things to kemas!!
courier stuffs yet to come too *groan*
and must send laptop to doctor all the way in Jurong *sheesh*

on another note, Rawia just sent a reply to my email
and i am so freaking surprised to learn
that she is engaged!!

actually am not really surprised
as the culture of the people i know there is such
engaged at early age, mostly matchmade
but never really crossed my mind
that she would be one of them

this is such pleasant news!
looking forward to the pictures of her engagement party
that she's promised to send *smiles*

okay i've crapped enough
gotta set out the things i need to do
and possibly meeting up with Aisyah tomorrow as well

the past week has been a great way to cap off my time here

Thursday and Friday was spent packing stuffs
to be sent for courier on Monday
made last minute plans on Friday night for Saturday
since i knew the Sheikh would be busy
with the conference in Sydney over the weekend
decided to meet up with my acquantaince turned friend, Hida

came across the Harry Potter ad at Melbourne Central
and the fanatic in her requested to check out the prices here
went to Borders, Readers' Feast and another bookshop
before going back to Borders as they had the best price
luckily for her, she managed to lay her hands
on the final adult version of the book for the day
and she told me even her bedsheets back home is of Harry Potter
imagine that! think my dowager would faint
if i wanted something like that *heh*

solat stop at IISCA, then to Sydney Road for lunch at Alasya
had a great time catching up with her
funny how when you're away from home
acquantainces can turn into great company
shopped for my groceries
before we headed back to my place
she wanted to drop by to check out where i'm staying
we parted ways, with plans to meet up again on Tuesday
and perhaps a day trip as well during the coming week

the planned dinner that Saturday night
with housemates and tuanrumah was postponed
which was just as well, as i was still full from lunch
the tuanrumah was too tired to go out
having moved most of her stuffs to her brother's place
she's sold the house and is moving out as well

to keep myself occupied, rented a DVD for the night
Bewaafa was ho-hum, nothing spectacular

Sunday was spent doing up the final packing bits
courier came on Monday, and organised a bit more of my room

lunched at Nando's on Tuesday before the movie
nasib half-price ticket, coz i think it was ho-hum
and i think Alba looks better with darker hair
dragged Hida to purchase my Crumpler bag after that
felt good about the purchase *heh*
though Kakak thinks it's a tad too big for my frame
i don't care, i sungguh like

the agenda on Wednesday was to purchase a couple of things
namely our day trip tickets and abaya
but of course i had to check out 7 Angels
and found a suitable parka, as requested by the sister
wasn't sure if still should buy
as it's almost similar to my white jacket
si mentel psychoed me 'buy, buy, buy' when i called
even before i could explain to her it was similar
bought it eventually, all the while thinking
how the heck am i going to fit this in my luggage?

went to Half-Tix, purchased our tickets
then headed to IBC after that for my abaya
of course even the smallest size was too big
but nevertheless, chose one with a design
that won't be desecrated even after altering
a two-toned pink and black chiffon
that comes together with a matching hijab

still had time, so went to ZamZam for a quick snack
before meeting up with housemates and tuanrumah for dinner
the food at Sawasdee was good
and we even got 10% discount *heh*
all thanks to Kakak's connection with the owner

actually, it was also thanks to me haha!
we decided to treat the tuanrumah for the dinner
so i went over to pay when she was in the Ladies
the owner was at the counter billing me
he made conversation, asking me where i was from
i mentioned to him that Kakak works
at the accounting firm that he uses for the restaurant
hearing that, he promptly decided to give us the discount
haha! nice nice!

after that we headed to Spencer Street
to check out Kakak's new studio apartment
it was nice, secure and pretty much brand new
comes complete with a yet-to-be-completed-gym and pool
although the latter is a shallow one
would be happy if i had something like that
took many pictures that night
will put them up soon, like after i've returned?

yesterday went to Great Ocean Road with Hida
we even took the helicopter ride over the 12 Apostles
but something happened during the helicopter ride
something that could only happen to a ditzhead like me

the batteries went flat during the ride

yup, only an airhead like me could let that happen
so i didn't manage to get as many great pictures
neither did i take any at the Loch Ard Gorge and London Bridge
i could have kicked myself in the ass for that

anyway, today was spent packing and organising more stuffs
the tuanrumah helped to send things to the Op Shop
and Hida called as well with great news
her residency thingy did not turn out well
so now we're taking the same flight home together on Sunday

tomorrow morning will be visiting Hatice
was supposed to be today but she had to postpone it
am hoping will have time to visit Sis Mariati as well

and i am sungguh loving my Crumpler bag you know

Wednesday, July 13, 2005

i have officially graduated *heh*

results are out, and alhamdullillah, i aced them
so now dear witch, cousin and snag
i officially thank you for your 'congrats'

received a surprise call this morning
the best friend of an ex-classmate in poly
that makes her my acquaintance?
gave her my mobile through Friendster
though didn't really expect her to call

she's here to apply for residency, the lucky biatch
currently staying with her cousin
and looking for short-term accommodation as well
we've plans to meet up next week

passed by a Crumpler store in the city just now
and it took aaalll of my will not to buy one there and then
i hardly indulge in buying things on the impulse
but this one nearly made me do it
went in there twice in fact, before walking away quickly
seriously considering about it
have till next week to decide
but they're all so nice, i want all lah!!

and i also want to get myself an abaya
but the problem is, because of my cute, small frame
even the smallest sized abaya is too big for me
nevertheless, shall look see look see next week as well

Monday, July 11, 2005

i think i am having pms

coz i feel like crap

and i suddenly don't feel like
going on with tomorrow's plan

coz i feel like crap

maybe i should call Sadaf and tell her?

and what happened to dear witch blog eh?

Sunday, July 10, 2005

put together single, available sisters
and one of the topics of conversation
would tend to be about getting married *heh*

such was the scene on the way home last night
and Hikmah and i shared the same feelings
we'll really miss the lectures we get here when back home
ain't the same as what we get over there

last night wasn't as good as Friday's
we felt the topic wasn't thoroughly discussed
but still, you can only benefit from such events no?
and we have a new brother as of last night as well

Fotopages is no longer spastic
so here are some overdue pictures

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
do you see what i see? i see 2 Turks, 2 Indons, a Bangladeshi, a Palestinian, an Utopian, a Lebanese and a Singaporean in that pic. multi-racial, one religion. i loike.

congrats to us girls!!

wheeeee!!!!!!!!!!!

been a good weekend so far!

attended a lecture last night with Kadz
more info on that here
the speaker's from Texas and he spoke with a Texas 'twang
vair nice to listen, and he's a good speaker too
not too serious, interspersed with light-hearted jokes

added to that, a sister decided to take the shahadah that night
she did it on stage in front of everyone
of course i had to cry lah witnessing it all

bumped into Hikmah on the way home
and chatted throughout the journey
one thing lead to another we tentatively aggreed
to have supper at Bismi after tonight's lecture

then this morning roamed Bridge Rd
to look for the sister's parkas with Kakak
decided to leave for city mosque by one o'clock
contemplated about it and thought
hhrrmm... too lazy to go all the way to pray
why don't i go someplace nearer instead?

so suggested to her have lunch together
at Changi Village Nasi Lemak on La Trobe St.
since over there i heard from Aisyah
they have a praying area as well
but of course, takkan just go there to pray right?
so if want to use praying area
should politely buy something as well

took tram, but we alighted at the wrong stop, one stop earlier
just then, from the corner of my eye, i saw something
'Zam Zam Restaurant' were the words that i spied
now everyone knows that name in sg
is popular for it's briyani fare
so excitedly dragged Kakak to check it out
and it was the very same one... plus it was halal!!

went in, and the brother at the counter gave salam
so i was faced with a problem then
i wanted to have lunch there, but i needed to pray as well
on the spur of the moment
asked the brother if got praying area there
and there was!! hahaha!! it's not even in a room
just a small corner at the back of the restaurant

so i had my lunch there with Kakak and did my zuhur after that
the restaurant is related to the one in KL and SG
and tastes the same as well, sungguh authentic

parted ways with Kakak and bought some stuffs at Big W
while walking on Swanston St., saw a little girl
trying to push open the door at Nelayan Restaurant
thought she looked so cute with her hijab and all
then i realised 'oh my gawdd!! it was Amatullah!'
there was Sis Mariati with her family
gave my salam and hugged, chatted for a bit
she invited me to come over to her house before i leave
will endeavour to, perhaps on a Thursday or Friday
Salsabil has grown so big!! so jambu that kid!!

okay now Kadz and i have to leave for the lecture
toodles~

screw you

screw you freaking retards who did this

while i know that my level of deen leaves much to be desired
i know for a fact that hurting innocents is NOT condoned by Islam
for all you know, there could be Muslims among the injured
and no, i do not condone the Iraq war either
i felt the same sick feeling watching the news of the bomb
the very same way i felt watching news of the war

idiotic pricks

the tuanrumah asked me who these al-Qaida people are
what are they trying to do? what are their reasons?
i wasn't sure how to answer her
in fact, i felt ashamed and embarrased
helpless and almost like crying

retards

i had a great time last night

Tice organised a sorta farewell dinner for yours truly
got called up about it on Tuesday night
with the message to invite other people as well
chose two close chums, but there was a problem with transport
since the venue was all the way at Broadmeadows
and being a Sunday night, there may not be buses as well
she managed to solve that problem though and invited her friend
a familiar face in the musollah, to come as well
all in all, there were 9 of us last night

dinner was at Anatolia Turkish Resturant at Broadmeadows
ambience there was really great
would have taken lotsa pics if had own digital
the yummylicious food was in huge portion
when we left the place, i thought that was the end of it
but she brought us to another restaurant for dessert
i was really stuffed by then, but it was Turkish ice-cream
so we bought two plates and shared that

she surprised me with a gift as well, from both her and Osman
a simple yet elegant necklace from Bevilles *touched*

thanks darling for planning the dinner and the treat
thanks too for picking and sending us home
thanks Rawia, Sadaf and Kadz for coming
thanks Ekberg for coming as well, so we had transport

she's promised me something else before i leave
looking forward to that happening *smiles*

despite the frosty cold shoulder
that i deservingly received yesterday
i had lotsa fun during the international farewell thingy
all thanks to sweet Imel and company *grins*

my favourite part was the shot we took in the library
on the table on the third floor and in between the shelves
even managed to take a number of pics with a brother
he's like the only one who calls me by 'Erlyna' here in Melbourne
and pronounced properly too mind ya
a tad unnerving for me when he first did that

the dinner at night i truly wanted to attend, wallahi
more for the organiser's sake rather than anyone else
but i think my absence
would have been much more appreciated no doubt
will call her later to explain

went to IISCA after three weeks of MIA
the sheikh wasn't there
we listened to Muhammad al-Shareef's tafseer CD instead
and had our monthly food thingy as usual

Umm Hudzaifah brought Dhiya' along
he's grown so *biiiggg*
his brown eyes are as yummylicious as his brother's
and i learnt Umm Ammatullah is expecting her third one
the sisters hard at work
at increasing the ummah presence here *heh*

looking forward to tomorrow night's dinner
right now i have a date with the cast of Kaal and Parineeta *heh*

congrats to the brohther on FINALLY getting a bed of his own
*throws confetti*
