i NEED a good freeware/adware!! pop-ups keep appearing on my laptop.... nie ah gara-gara blog-hopping... *hmpf*
yest was a great day... Imelda ended up joining Aisyah and myself at the last minute... our first stop was the city mosque... initially wanted to haf brunch at South Yarra but Imelda wanted to try out the burger sold at the mosque after hearing from AJ (Chinese-Muslim guy from Brunei) how nice it tastes... we ended up having our lunch in the staff kitchen area... haha... pretty interesting way of selling things at the mosque they haf there... no one looks after the stand... u juz take what you want and it is up to you to be honest enough to place the money in the money tray...
then it was off to the city... went around looking at jewellery shops coz Imelda wanted to redeem her gift voucher...stopped at OfficeWorks for Imelda to get some stationery... finally bought my space bag from Target... we parted ways after that... Imelda needed to go to Brunswick to get her halal meat while Aisyah and myself headed for Chinatown... bought lotsa self-indulgence stuffs from Chinatown... heh...
headed for the city mosque again for Aisyah to perform her Asar and Maghrib... i learnt from my cousin and uncle when they came here last year that 70% of the taxi drivers here are Muslims (they went exploring together and started chatting up with some people at the mosque)... which probably explains why many of the brothers for jemaah Maghrib were men in blue (taxi drivers here wear uniforms which are blue in colour)... and why there were so many taxis in the carpark next to the mosque....
earlier on in the day, i also learnt that Bro Zulfikar must be quite a figure around here as well... a brother asked me where i was from and when i said Singapore, he went something like, 'the tudung guy, you know who? he's here also...' so i went 'yeah Bro Zulfikar... yeah i know he's here...' hehe...
anyway, after Maghrib we headed for South Yarra for dinner... and i saw a possum for the first time! (terserlah sungguh ke-jakun-nan ako sebagai seorang sg) or at least i think it was a possum... while walking from the mosque to the train station, we had to walk past Flagstaff Gardens... and there were a couple of possums running around... managed to get a shot... will upload all the pics i've taken yest later today ayte...
AND! Aisyah and myself learnt that it's not easy putting theory into practice! hah! what happened was after the possum experience and while still walking to the train station... there was this big dog that suddenly walked from behind Aisyah and licked her hand.... *yech* so we had to put into practice what we learnt about sertu-ing yourself... looked around for soil... tanah liat was out of the question... none around that area... even then the soil had a lot of those tiny stones in them.... after that experience, we were so ready for our dinner...
dinner was great... sitting al-fresco at the Falafel House... had a great time talking to her... from family stuffs to finding the significant other in our lives to the possiblity of staying on and working here... *ponders* farnie how i can really open up to someone i juz met but can hardly communicate with the housemates... hhmm...
it's really nice to finally find someone who shares the same values as you... juz like myself, Aisyah is really particular about performing her obligations... which is a nice change from most of the people i mix around with (they shall remain nameless k)... with them, i sometimes feel guilty at being the only one who watches the time to make sure i won't miss my prayers... that guilt shouldn't be there should it? and she's one great girl that Aisyah... used to be active with Darul Arqam and her pet topics include judgement day and comparative religion... finally someone i can relate to!
donch think i'm going for the trip after all... tired is one thing... the other thing is that, i've still yet to receive confirmation details from the organiser... and it's supposed to be today... can you believe it? shows how sincere the person is aye... oh well... live and learn huh?
housemates are off to a road trip organised by their Photography Club later so i'll haf the whole house to myself! greatness i tell you... gonna indulge in some pampering by cooking briyani today *grins* hhmm.... although i think i may haf to make that trip to Carnegie to get the groceries... yechh... and my partner whom i'm doing an assignment with called up asking if i could come down to discuss the assignment...
leceh betul nie minah... kejap thurs, kejap wed.... dahlah gitu dia tak paham macam maner nak buat nak tgk mcm mana ako buat ako punya pulak... banyak cerita lah deknie.... *hmpf* not sure if i'm going to campus though... maybe i should ask her to come here instead?
i might put up the pics later today... so watch this space aye dearies...
and i STILL NEED freeware/adware... [cue pitiful face] help me?
